About FortiusOne

FortiusOne provides next-generation Intelligent Mapping Solutions that make the World’s geographic data accessible to everyone for learning, decision making and problem solving. FortiusOne is leading the way toward the next generation of the Web with breakthrough SmartWeb technologies that offer unprecedented access to data, easy remixing of data for specific needs, and rich information visualization to grow collective knowledge.

FortiusOne was spun out of George Mason University in 2005 by a group of recognized experts in economics, geospatial analysis and visualization, and risk management.

Initially, FortiusOne was a successful consulting company, applying its deep expertise in geographic analysis and visualization to the needs of clients such as the Department of Homeland Security. This gave us key insights into both the opportunities and the challenges presented by the explosion of data on the Web. Government customers have been at the forefront of large-scale data management and fusion of data across large dispersed organizations. The emergence of Web mapping solutions inspired FortiusOne to invent new technologies to address the limitations of traditional analytic tools and the challenges in finding adequate geographic data to solve real-world problems. Joined by successful pioneers from the networking, Web services, and social networking markets, FortiusOne pursues its mission to interconnect and share the World’s geographic data.
